Are you interested in science? Do you love the outdoors? Are you fascinated by the plants and animals in your area and wish you could keep track of them all? Then this is the event for you! Join us at Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve to learn how to use iNaturalist (a free app available at the app store online) to keep track of the plants and animals in your neighborhood. Learn to utilize the expertise of hundreds of online experts and our very own docent experts at Rancho, to identify the things you see in nature. We'll start with Rancho and you can go on from there to wherever you like!

Become part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers helping to collect valuable information about the wildlife in our area. Help us track the ebb and flow of critters we can spot from the trails. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the natural world you live in and share that with your youngsters and friends in your life.

Children of all ages welcome. You do not need an ipad or an iphone to enjoy this activity. If you bring a digital camera and a notepad, we can help you with the coordinates and the identification. We will show you how to upload your information so you too can join this world wide team of people helping to become citizen scientists!
